The Sales Edit

Just Lovely Little Things Sales Edit

If you saw my sale tips post the other day, you will have seen that I'd reverted to online sale shopping following a hectic Boxing Day spent at Lakeside. I have to admit there are some great online bargains to be had, not just beauty related but some great fashion bargains too and here's my pick of some of the great deals I've seen.

Sale Tips

In retrospect I maybe should have spent yesterday lounging around in my pjs, watching Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr Fox while I nursed my food baby, but instead I piled into the car with my family and headed down to Lakeside for a spot of Boxing Day sale shopping. I'm not going to lie, it was manic and when it all got a bit too busy we retreated home; I think I'll do the rest of my sale shopping online. For those of you braving those busy high streets and shopping centres, I thought I'd share my top sales tips to hopefully make the sales a little less stressful and more about bagging your perfect bargain.

No matter how organised I am with my Christmas shopping and this year I did quite a bit in November which for me is pretty organised, I always find there are a fair few things that need to be bought still in December. With Christmas less than a week away and this being the last weekend before Christmas, I thought I'd share my top present picks to help with any last minute gifts.

OM Yoga Zen Productivity

I know at this time of year a lot of us are hurtling around at a 100mph with long to do lists to complete as Christmas is just around the corner and there are a number of things that need to be tied up before the Christmas break or before the end of the year. I know that is very much the case for me, as I seem to have a crazy long to do list. Sometimes I just don't know where to start or I try to tackle too much at once and then feel frustrated that I'm not crossing off as much as I'd like from my mammoth list. I came across the Zen Productivity article in the December issue of OM Yoga on my daily commute and it has really helped me tackle that overwhelming feeling of a never ending task list!

House of Fraser Christmas Inspiration

A little while ago I was invited along to the House of Fraser Christmas preview, which this year is shaking things up a bit with their 'Your Christmas, Your Rules' campaign. At the time Christmas did feel a little far off and wasn't fully on my radar yet, but now I can't believe it's less than two weeks away! By now, I'm sure most of you are on track with all your Christmas shopping. I've done most of mine but I must admit I'm a little stuck for inspiration for a couple of people and I know there are many of you in a similar boat to me. So to help us all out, I thought I would share a little Christmas inspiration.......

Mini Lush Haul

Last week I merrily headed down to the huge Lush store on London's Oxford Street for the first time. I was a girl on a mission, in search of The Melting Snowman; my favourite from the Lush Christmas range for the last two years.

Handmade Beauty Advent Calendar

It's no secret that I've been seriously lusting over beauty advent calendars this year, the Charlotte Tilbury & Liberty ones especially grabbing my attention! Believe me I was very, very tempted to cave & get one but I just couldn't quite justify the spend & then I had an idea......why not make my very own beauty advent calendar?.........and well here it is!....

Review: Geo-Fleur - Terrarium Workshop

I first heard of Geo-Fleur on Stylonylon's Sunday Edit post, which prompted me to visit Chatsworth Road Market on a very rainy Sunday in August in search of some lovely succulents and a terrarium and I wasn't disappointed.

The Style Edit

Today's look is me trying something a bit different and loving it! I'm not known for being so casual when out and about but this outfit is just so comfy (you know I'm all about the comfort), it even has pockets and it was one of my favourite outfits to wear when in Lisbon recently!

Review: KIKO Rebel Romantic Intensely Lavish Lipstick and Lipliner

Since discovering KIKO in Italy a few years ago, I've become a huge fan of this affordable beauty brand. I have a number of items from their original collection - their eye shadows are super pigmented and their nail polishes are pretty awesome, but it's their limited edition collections which get me super excited!

The Style Edit: Geometric Prints

This dress from Topshop has been one of two favourite geometric pieces from the Summer. I wore this on my birthday as I love it and the bold print is just so beautiful. So of course I packed it with me for my holiday in Portugal this week.

The Weekend Edit

Tea brought to you by the Gruffalo
Last week I'd wasn't very well and had to take a few days off work due to really bad migraines, so I had a much more chilled out weekend this week, trying to catch up on sleep and not rush around at a 100mph!

Review: Olympus PEN

The Olympus PEN is the much hyped about cross camera offering from Olympus. Bloggers love it and there's quite an Olympus PEN community. Olympus have had an incredibly successful ambassador programme engaging with bloggers and brands which has helped the camera become the must have of the year! I took mine along with me to London Fashion Weekend and I had a number of bloggers come up to me to ask how I found the camera and how it compared to a DSLR, so I thought it'd be a good idea to share my thoughts about the PEN on here too.

The Style Edit: London Fashion Weekend - Henry Holland

As part of London Fashion Weekend, I was lucky enough yesterday to have front row tickets to the Henry Holland catwalk show. I knew about Henry Holland as a designer, presenter, blogger and occasional dj, I'd even seen him dj with Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud at a Selfridges event I attended. So I was quite intrigued to see his latest fashion collection  in the amazing space of the Saatchi Gallery.

The Style Edit: Orange is the New Black

Autumn is very much here with the official first day of Autumn this week. You may have noticed that one of the big trends this season is Orange, as it's very much hit the stores. This isn't a colour that normally features in my wardrobe, but I love the darker Orange shades which are around at the moment such as this burnt orange dress.

Birthday Resolutions

Having birthday resolutions was something that became a tradition with my friend Shalina. As soon after our birthday as possible, we would write about four or five goals we wanted to achieve within the coming year. It's something that I really wanted to do again after my recent birthday but instead of having just a few things to accomplish, I thought I would have a mix of goals and just general life reminders for the year, so here's my list....

Review: Christian Louboutin Lipsticks

There has been a lot of hype surrounding this latest beauty offering from Christian Louboutin. The lipsticks follow on from the successful nail polish release last year. There are 36 beautiful shades to choose from in shades in three different textures – opulent Silky Satin, luminous Sheer Voile and rich Velvet Matt. The packaging is a weighty jewel like case and the lipstick can be worn as a necklace.

With everything that's been going on the last few months and emotions running high, I wasn't left feeling very excited about my recent birthday, but this birthday turned out to be one of the best ones yet! I'm truly blessed with the most loveliest & supportive friends and family who made my birthday such a happy day and a real celebration of my loved ones.

As much as I'm reluctant to admit it, Summer is coming to an end and Autumn is fast approaching, so it's a good time to add a few transitional pieces to my wardrobe such as this suede look skirt.

Om Yoga and Positive Thinking

The September edition of Om Yoga magazine is jam packed with so many great articles. With features such as the A-Z of mediation and the art of eating well with delicious recipes, it wasn't so easy for me to pick a favourite piece at first, but then I saw something which really jumped off the page and has been really important to me these last weeks.

The Big Feastival

This bank holiday weekend I headed up to the Cotswolds to visit my lovely best friend Sofia and her boyfriend and on Saturday we all headed down to Alex James farm for The Big Feastival, which my friend Shalina helps organise. Over the last few years it's become a bit of an annual tradition for me to head to The Big Festival with friends and this year we were incredibly lucky to have beautiful weather with the sun shining, no rain in sight and it just being lovely and warm for most of the day.

Review:The Braid Bar

Just before I headed off to New York, I was in Selfridges, in London, where I stumbled across the #selfridgesxworkit events which were a lot of fun. I had a makeover at the Tom Ford counter which was amazing, I really wanted to blow my holiday money there and then and buy everything (I didn't by the way), but because I'd had a makeover I was rewarded with a free lunch from Eat! Yay! Just as exciting, was the discovery of The Braid Bar. This is why I love Selfridges, so many fun things under one roof, they even have a cinema!

Review: Ciaté Olivia Palermo Nail Polish Collection - Nantucket

I don't mind admitting that I have a bit of a style crush on Olivia Palermo. I love how she always looks so effortlessly chic & her balayage formed the inspiration for my recent more natural looking balayage update. So when I heard the news earlier in the year, that Olivia Palermo was going to be Ciaté guest Creative Director for 2015, I knew something pretty stylish would be coming our way & the teaser glimpses on Instagram didn't disappoint.

Brighton in the Sunshine

Last week I spent a lot of my time looking at the summer sunshine through the window from my desk at work and with a big sigh, looking forward to the chance to be outside enjoying the sunshine at the weekend. So when the idea of heading to Brighton was mentioned I was online booking the train tickets in a flash.

Today I'm Wearing

This is one of my favourite new Summer looks, I love everything about it and it's just so comfy. This outfit is a little Wimbledon inspired and if I was lucky enough to have tickets to Centre Court, this would be my outfit of choice (last time I had Centre Court tickets, I'd camped out overnight and I definitely didn't look as together as this).

Review: YSL Les Sahariennes Blur Bronzer - 06 Sienna

I'd heard a lot about the much hyped YSL Blur Perfector so when I found myself in John Lewis, who were running a 10% off Beauty promotion, I headed over to the YSL counter to have a look. While I was in two minds about the Blur Perfector itself, I discovered YSL's gorgeous Les Sahariennes Bronzers which combines the blur perfector with bronzer and was perfect for what I actually needed.
