At London Fashion Weekend on Saturday, as well as attending the Henry Holland Catwalk show, I was back again at the catwalk to see the Trend collection, a showcase of the four key trends for this season into the next.
Into The Wild
Unsurprisingly and much to my joy, animal prints of course feature heavily in this trend, but it's also about clashing prints, such as mixing animal prints with florals. If you'd like to be a bit more understated, adding some animal print accessories is a great way to dip your toe into the trend.
Designers: By Malene Birger, DKNY, REDValentino, Elizabeth and James
Shades of Marsala
I love the colour palette of this trend, it's all about rich Aubergines, Paprikas and Saffron shades and this is a trend I'm definitely keen to experiment with. I just might have to pop the faux leather Aubergine pencil skirt from Karen Millen into my shopping basket.
Designers: M Missoni, Vivienne Westwood, Karen Millen
Super Retro
This is such a fun trend inspired by the 60s and the 70s. So many cute pieces in this collection and I very much fell in love with the blue check two piece. If you can only invest in one piece, then it's all about the patchwork mini skirt in denim or suede!
Designers: See by Chole, MIH, Free People
Punk Rocks
Every wardrobe should have something a little edgy in it and this trend gives you the perfect excuse to indulge your inner punk. The trend is all about black leather, safety pins, gold and the patent or PVC if you're feeling extra adventurous. Catbird's safety pin earring, as sported by my friend Sarah when I was in New York, is the perfect nod to this trend.
Designers: Versus Versace, Balmain, REDValentino, Vivienne Westwood, House of Holland -
