The New Year's Eve Lip Edit

With just one more day of 2015 left and party plans for NYE very much being made, I thought I'd share my top lipstick picks for seeing in the New Year in style, whatever your party plans may be.

For a classic red, the award has to go to MAC Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo. This lipstick just epitomises movie style glamour and is a shade of red which flatters everyone! Whenever I put this on, I feel instantly glam and ready to face whatever the day or night will bring. The texture is quite thick and matte which means Ruby Woo has great staying power. You don't have to worry about constantly reapplying through the night especially when it comes to that crucial New Years kiss.....just saying!

If you're after a hot pink then the Louboutin lipstick Bengali in a velvet matte finish is perfect! This lipstick just screams the perfect party lipstick. It's decadent, that's for sure, I mean you can even wear it as a necklace and you will look nothing but glam as you pull this out when you need to reapply. The formula is creamy and just glides on so smoothly leaving a beautiful matte finish which isn't drying at all. The staying power is incredible which is another reason it's a great party lipstick.

If the Louboutin lipsticks are out of your price range or if you're looking for more of a creamy but non-matte formula then Bobbi Brown's Luxe Lip Colour lipstick in Hot Rose is a great option. This is just gorgeous and super creamy. Your lips feel pampered and you have a beautiful statement lip. The MUA in Selfridges told me that Hot Rose is the shade Kate Upton is wearing in the Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip ads! Ooh I don't mind channelling a little bit of Kate Upton on NYE at all! Another great thing is that the Luxe Lipsticks are currently on special offer in John Lewis...go, go, go!

For a beautiful Berry shade, I've opted for Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet in 50 La Romanesque. The texture is soft, smooth and creamy, again gliding on well and leaving the perfect matte finish. This is a shade which you can apply lightly and it'll just bring your look together and you can layer it up for a more statement lip. The shade is stunning and super flattering for all.

If you're looking for the wow factor but at drug store prices then grab Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Ole Flamingo! This is a show stopper for sure. It'll look amazing in photos, is easy to apply with the doe foot applicator and once the creamy formula is on and dry, it won't budge so you can party away and still be photo ready.

So hopefully that's your lipstick needs taken care of for NYE....now what to wear....
