Life Lately: The September Edit

September was a jam packed month for me & it's another month which flew by. I celebrated my birthday at the beginning of September & had a wonderful day with family in Brighton. Such a lovely day filled with a 3 tier cake lovingly made & decorated by my brother, sunshine & warmth in Brighton & beautiful thoughtful gifts & gestures from friends & family.

I had a bit of a birthday panic as I declared 'I have nothing to wear!' Then I remembered my gorgeous Peter Pilotto for Target dress, which I'd been saving for a lovely occasion, I put it on & it was perfect! I felt very lovely in it all day!

Soon after my birthday I had a fantastic night at the theatre when I went to see Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. We were lucky to have really great seats so we didn't miss any of the action on stage & it was such a fun performance of one of my childhood favourites which is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year!

Those of you who know me, will know that the very lovely Rachel Khoo is my all time favourite chef, so imagine how surprised & pleased I was to stumble across her cookery demo at my local shopping centre when out rushing around doing errands!! It was great to take a few minutes out & have Rachel show us how to make fabulous deserts in minutes.

Unfortunately this September I wasn't able to make it to London Fashion Weekend, but luckily my friend Kate & I got to go along to one of Cosmopolitan's #FashFest events. It was great to hear the panel discussion with Pixie Lott & fashion, hair & beauty insiders such as Ben Cooke & Lisa Valencia and we left the evening with an amazing goodie bag! A brilliant evening & definitely one of the highlights of the month for me.

September was the month I discovered My Little Box, a new monthly beauty box which has finally hit the UK from Paris. The My Little Box beauty box is really just something else. The attention to detail, the beautiful illustrations and the carefully selected beauty and lifestyle products make it really stand out. It's perfect for me and really encompasses alot of the style and concepts which made me start up my blog. I love it and can't wait for October's box.

As you may have seen from my Vogue Fashion's Night Out post, I was invited along by Rush Shop  to their #FNO event at the flagship Reiss store off London's Oxford Street. It was such a fun evening of make overs, cupcakes and fashion shows and I loved the gorgeous curled hairstyle I left with.

I couldn't wait for Sali Hughes' Pretty Honest to come out as I'm a big Sali Hughes fan, I was lucky enough to meet her and have her pick out an Estee Lauder lipstick for me and I've followed her Guardian beauty article for a good few years now. I'm really loving her book as it's the equivalent of having all her advice and tips from her articles and appearances in one, easy to refer to place. I really enjoy being able to delve into this book and learn something new each time.

So that's a snap shot of September really. I'm really excited about October as there are lots of fun things lined up and I'm already enjoying the lovely things October has to offer.
