Review: Origins Facial

Just before Christmas I had a bit of a splurge at the Origins counter in John Lewis. I'd only popped in to pick up a new GinZing face cream and ended up getting quite a few other things too, which I'm currently trying out and I'll be putting up a review soon. With my Origins spend, I also received a complimentary appointment for a Origins facial and as I was lucky enough to have the week off work this week, I was really excited about heading up to John Lewis for my facial.

The facial started off with a consultation with my Origins assistant; Catherine. We discussed the type of skin that I have, my current skincare routine and the products that I use, how I'd got on with the Origins products that I have and whether I had any facial concerns or problem areas. I informed Catherine that my skin can be quite sensitive and that I hadn't reacted well to clay masks previously, which she noted. Throughout the whole facial, Catherine was so lovely and talked through each of the products she was using and it really did make the whole experience really relaxing and pampering. Just what I needed!

One of products I'm always on the hunt for is the right eye cream. I know some people think eye creams to be an unnecessary extra but my under eyes can get quite dehydrated and I also suffer from dark under eyes. I know the latter is predominately down to my Asian genes, so to an extent there is only so much an eye cream can do, but lately my under eyes have looked darker and darker which I think is common for many people at this time of year. Previously I have found eye creams to be either too light with little effect or too thick and very greasy giving me shiny under eyes....not a good look! I discussed this with Catherine and she tried out the newly released Mega Bright Eye Cream which is targeted at reducing dark circles and dry skin around the eye...perfect!! I really liked this cream and think I'll give it a go once I've finished my current eye creams.

I really enjoyed my Origins facial! The products smell and feel amazing and I can honestly say my skin felt so soft for days and looked really radiant after the facial. So much so in fact, I gladly wondered around and did the rest of my shopping on Oxford Street without a trace of makeup on, which is something I would never normally do. If you're thinking of adding some Origins products to your skincare routine, I really do recommend trying out their complimentary facial to find the right products for you.

Have you tried an Origins facial before?
