BLOGOSPHERE MAGAZINE - THE ISSUE 12 COVER REVEAL

I'd wanted to share this post with you for the last month or so, but my laptop stopped working and had to be in for repair for a good few weeks, so I'm excited to be finlly sharing this on the blog you today. From my early 20s, I've loved flicking through Fashion and Beauty magazines and over the years my magazine of choice has varied depending on my interests, be it travel, lifestyle or even gardening. There is just a particular joy of having some sofa time with a cuppa in hand and a good magazine to get lost in. Through project de-clutter, I've become a lot more selective about the magazines I purchase; it's no longer about the glossy finish but the content quality, the thought and research gone into the articles, and importantly a magazine which motivates and inspires. For me blogosphere magazine ticks all those boxes.
Blogosphere is a quarterly independent publication which launched in October 2013 as a print publication written by bloggers for bloggers. The magazine was founded by Alice Audley, who'd started a blog the previous year as a way in which to get into journalism, but she quickly fell in love with blogging and with all it represented – the freedom for anyone to have a voice and share their thoughts, passions and discoveries with the rest of the world. Alice's idea behind blogosphere was based on 'What if you could filter some of the amazing voices from the blogosphere and bring them all together and put them in one place?'
I've been reading blogosphere since it launched and over the years it's evolved from an 80-page blogging directory to a huge 164-page publication, with exclusive interviews with notable social media stars, how-tos, advice columns and blogging-focused features all brought together with beautiful photography and illustrations and all of which lead me to sign up for a subscription to the magazine.
I've been lucky enough to attend a few blogosphere events, which I've loved every moment of. They've given me the chance to try out something fun and meet other bloggers such as Helen and Sanoobar and spend hours discussing all things blogging!
As part of my subscription I was invited along to the blogosphere issue 12 cover reveal featuring the hijabi blogger and YouTuber Dina Tokio. I was really excited to attend, having not been to a cover reveal party before and it was such a good night. The evening kicked off with the chance to chat and mingle with other bloggers over drinks and nibbles. I also enjoyed meeting with brands such as So…?Fragrance and reminiscing on how they’d been my first ever perfume as well as meeting and hearing about products from newer brands such as Janina dental care and Noughty hair care.
There was live music from El Sam, after all it wouldn't be a party without some good music. Sam's a British alternative, indie pop singer-songwriter and self-taught producer. I loved Sam’s indie vibe, made me feel very nostalgic of my indie days and I enjoy discovering new music and artists. Sam’s on Spotify if you fancy checking him out, I’ve been having a bit of a dance around to him in the kitchen.

There was a real buzz in the air at the cover reveal event, as we acknowledged and celebrated achievements and diversity, hearing how blogosphere magazine has become an established independent publication, one which reflects the diversity of its readers and the blogging community through its content and covers stars. For me the event was hugely inspiring, it felt really positive to spend time in the company of bloggers I could relate to. Importantly the evening reinforced how you don’t have to fit one particular mould or follow a certain style in order to succeed as a blogger. It was also great to be able to meet the people behind some of the blogs and videos I enjoy following such as Ree from Really Ree and Dina (I’d like to say I played it cool, but who am I kidding, I totally fangirled!)
It feels so good to be back into blogging again and I'm already looking forward to the next blogosphere event. If you'd like to go along to the events or have a subscription to blogosphere magazine, you can find out all you need to know here. Right I'm off to curl up on the sofa with my cuppa and magazine. Happy Sunday lovelies!
