When these delicious Genesis Crafty* pancakes and scones landed on my desk, to say I was excited would be an understatement. I love pancakes and scones, you can't beat homemade scones with clotted cream and jam but sometimes when things are a bit too hectic and I just don't have time to make them, the Genesis Crafty range is a pretty good alternative.
Genesis Crafty is a modern bakery and family business owned and run by six brothers. The Northern Ireland-based, award-winning bakery thrives by using only high quality ingredients and hand-baking in small batches. Even celebrated chefs such as Jason Atherton are fans of Genesis Crafty.
Genesis Crafty are branching out from their Northern Irish home, launching to rest of the UK (to Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Waitrose) with the range of delicious scones and pancakes featuring locally produced buttermilk and locally milled wheatflour as well as sumptuous ingredients such as premium Belgian chocolate, soft Irish butter and local red cheddar.
Prices range from £1.39 to £1.89 and the Genesis Crafty range includes:
Big Pancakes – Made with locally produced buttermilk, locally milled wheatflour and flipped by hand for an airy, fluffy taste.
Blueberry Pancakes – Made and flipped by hand with ripe blueberries, local buttermilk and locally milled flour.
Chocolate Chip Pancakes – Premium Belgian chocolate chips blended with locally produced buttermilk and locally milled wheatflour.
Sultana Scones – Genesis Crafty’s version of the traditional fruit scone, rolled and cut by hand. Local flour and butter mixed with sweet, juicy sultanas for a rich, buttery and fruity scone.
Mini Sultana Scones – A smaller version of the classic sultana scone. Mini in size, but big on taste.
Cheese Scones – Delicious cheesy and tasty scones made with soft Irish butter, local red cheddar and locally milled flour. Rolled out and cut by hand.
I really liked this range and will definitely be picking more up on my next food shop. Everything was just so fresh and tasty and went down a treat in my house. Everyone loved them and in fact all of the pancakes and scones were gone within a day! My favourites of the range were the Blueberry pancakes and the Cheese scones. The pancakes had that delicious Blueberry taste which I love and were ideal for a Sunday morning breakfast treat. The Cheese scones were the perfect savoury snack, I even popped one in with my lunch and took it to work. The Chocolate pancakes were amazing too as when heated the chocolate melts and you get quite a decadent pancake which would go amazingly well with some ice-cream if you want to be super naughty.
Have you tried the Genesis Crafty range?
